The welcome at the hotel was very warm and inviting. We were greeted with fresh milk in the fridge and a lovely surprise of wine and cake. The hosts made sure to check in on us to ensure our stay was going well, which was a nice touch. The hotel had a great garden for the kids to play in, and despite being on a farm, it felt very safe.
The only downside was that there was only one bathroom with a bath and a shower head attached, rather than a dedicated shower cubicle. This could be an issue if staying with a larger group of people, or if you struggle with showering in a bath.

I absolutely adored the charming country decor of The Turkey House. The cozy furnishings and beautiful artwork really made me feel at home. The common areas were spacious and well-maintained, perfect for senior guests to relax and socialize. Plus, the hotel was easily accessible, with no stairs to climb and clear signage throughout the property.
I would have loved to have more assistance from the staff during my stay, especially for senior guests.

We had a fantastic stay at a stunning rural retreat. The house was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making us feel right at home. The beautiful countryside location allowed us to enjoy peaceful walks right from our doorstep. The owners were extremely helpful and made us feel welcome with a sweet surprise on arrival. This place was absolutely mind-blowing! The rural location was stunning, and the spacious and comfortable accommodation made us feel right at home. We were thrilled with the well-equipped kitchen and the cleanliness of the entire place. The outside seating area was perfect for enjoying the sunshine, and the endless walks right from our doorstep were jaw-dropping. Communication with the owners was super easy, and their attention to detail, like the cake and wine on arrival, made us feel incredibly welcome. The beds and bedding were top-notch, and having two toilets was a great convenience. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the Wi-Fi and smart TV with Netflix and Prime were a bonus. The location was perfect for hiking and running, with great routes right from the cottage. The hosts even provided basic kitchen and laundry essentials, and the on-site parking for our two cars was a plus. We loved that pets were allowed, and that there was a no-smoking policy on site. Could not recommend this place enough!

The Turkey House is a beautiful villa in a secluded location. The house is clean, comfortable, and spacious, offering plenty of space for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is well-appointed and even includes essential supplies for cooking. The hosts also provided lovely touches like flowers and a bottle of wine upon arrival. Despite being in the middle of the countryside, the WiFi connection is excellent and the TV has Netflix and Prime for entertainment. Additionally, the surrounding area offers great hiking and running routes, perfect for nature lovers. On-site parking is available for up to two cars.
While the property was overall great, there were a few minor drawbacks. The lack of a shower in the bathroom was a bit inconvenient, but the claw foot bath with a hand-held shower attachment was comfortable and provided hot water.

Beautiful house in a secluded location. Well-equipped accommodation with all the necessary kitchen supplies provided. Lovely touches like having pods for the coffee maker. Perfect for those who want a quiet and secluded getaway.
Very rural roads to the property. the AGA made the house too warm for us during unseasonably warm weather in September.

The decoration at The Turkey House was simply charming, with cozy floral patterns and antique furnishings that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and provided plenty of comfortable seating for relaxation. As a senior, I greatly appreciated the hotel's accessibility, with wide hallways and gentle ramps that made it easy for me to navigate. The children working there were always ready to assist with any needs and were extremely courteous.
Perhaps the only thing I would have asked for to make my vacation even better as a senior would be the addition of grab rails in the bathroom. This small touch would have provided some extra support and peace of mind during my stay.

I absolutely loved the cozy and charming interior of The Turkey House. The decoration had a lovely rustic feel, with beautiful vintage touches that made me feel right at home. The general areas of the hotel were incredibly well-maintained, and I especially appreciated the comfortable lounge where I could relax and unwind after a day of exploring. As a senior woman, I found the accessibility of the hotel to be excellent. The pathways were smooth and easy to navigate, and there were handrails conveniently placed in areas where I needed some extra support.
My only suggestion for a better vacation for senior people would be to have more grab bars installed in the bathroom. These additional bars would provide added security and stability for us seniors when using the facilities.

Spacious dining room, enclosed garden for family and pet. Remote location but 10min drive to town. Well-equipped kitchen with essential supplies. Responsive owners, farm tour, fresh eggs. Easy parking, wifi, large TV in comfy lounge. Great escape with animal sounds. Nervous dog, but made friends. Clear Aga instructions. Option to postpone due to storm. Recommend.
